How to Keep Double Hung Windows Clean
- 1). Wipe down the window with a dry cleaning cloth to remove loose debris.
- 2). Mix 1 tbsp. of dishwashing detergent in a spray bottle with warm water. Shake the solution to blend the soapy mixture.
- 3). Squeeze the spray bottle's trigger to spray the soapy solution onto the interior side of the window. Wipe down the solution with a lint-free cleaning cloth.
- 4). Push the latches on either side of the bottom window to release the latch lock. Gently pull the window down toward you.
- 5). Spray the cleaning solution onto the window's surface facing up. Wipe up the solution in a circular motion to clean and dry the window.
- 6). Pour 1 to 2 tbsp. of white vinegar onto a lint-free cleaning cloth. Wipe down the window to remove tougher stains. The vinegar dries on the window shortly after being used, and should be wiped up with a lint-free cloth to prevent streaking.
- 7). Lift the horizontal window up and push it back into place until the latches click, which indicates the window is safely back in place.
