How to Keep Ants Out of Vegetable Pots or Flower Pots
- 1). Sprinkle black or cayenne pepper in the flower or vegetable pot. Pepper agitates the ants senses and they will steer clear of both of these seasonings.
- 2). Fill a spray bottle with one-half apple cider vinegar and one-half water. Vinegar also agitates the ants sense of smell. Spray the mixture along the trail the ants are using to access the flower and vegetable pots several times a day until the ants have disappeared.
- 3). Pour some baby powder on the ants. The ants will retreat to get away from the source of the powder.
- 4). Place ant traps outside of the flower and vegetable pots. As an alternative to ant traps, you can sprinkle some black or cayenne pepper around the base of the pot.
