    • 1). Disconnect the negative ("-") battery cable using a ratchet and socket, unscrew the gas cap, then unscrew the fuel filler neck with the ratchet and socket, and pull it out with your hands. Locate the ground strap with a flashlight by shining it into the hole where the filler neck was, then remove it using the ratchet and socket.

    • 2). Place the jack beneath the gas tank, using the long wooden block as a cushion between the jack and the tank, and raise the jack to be flush with the tank.

    • 3). Remove the fuel tank holding straps using the ratchet and socket and an extension, then slowly release the jack until the top of the tank becomes visible, and remove the wiring and fuel lines at the top of the tank with a slotted screwdriver.

    • 4). Balance the tank, using the help of a friend, lower the jack all the way down, and slowly remove the gas tank.

    • 5). Follow the removal steps in reverse to install the new gas tank.
