How to Reset a 1998 Mustang Remote Keyless Entry
- 1). Close all of the doors and windows on your Mustang and close the trunk.
- 2). Enter your car with your keyless remote that needs to be reset and put your car key into the ignition of the car.
- 3). Press and hold the lock button on your keyless remote.
- 4). Cycle the key in the ignition from the "Off" position two clicks to the right to the "On" position, while holding the lock button on your remote still.
- 5). Cycle the lock eight times total (or seven more times after the first cycle) while still holding the lock button. Once you have finished the key should be in the "Off" position and the car's locks with trigger twice.
- 6). Press and hold the lock button on your remote until the car's locks respond, and your remote will be reset, programmed and ready for use.
