Removing the Baseboard From Laminate Flooring
- 1). Run a utility knife around the top edge of the baseboard to loosen paint.
- 2). Locate and mark the studs in the wall using a stud finder.
- 3). Insert a pry bar, flat-tipped screwdriver or putty knife slowly and carefully between the wall and the top edge of the baseboard. Insert the tool at a stud location to prevent poking holes in the wall.
- 4). Strike the top of the flat tipped screwdriver or putty knife gently with a rubber mallet or hammer to pry the baseboard away from the wall. If you are using a pry bar, simply pull the bar toward you to loosen the molding.
- 5). Repeat this process at all stud locations until the baseboard is completely removed.
