How do I Fix Tail Brake Lights on a 1998 Silverado?
- 1). Lower the tailgate of the Silverado. Remove the screws on the inner edge of the taillight assembly with a flat-blade screwdriver.
- 2). Pull the taillight assembly away from the bed of the truck. Push the retaining tab on the wiring harness, then pull it apart to disconnect it.
- 3). Turn the bulb counterclockwise, then remove it from the light assembly. Pull the bulb out of the socket. Insert the new bulb, pressing it into the socket. Put the bulb into the taillight assembly, then turn it clockwise. Push the wiring harness connection together. The clip will click once it is secure.
- 4). Insert the taillight assembly into the truck. Install the mounting screws, and tighten them with a flat-blade screwdriver.
- 5). Repeat the process on the opposite side if needed. Close the tailgate.
