  Garden centers now carry some pansies in the beginning of autumn to be used in containers and garden beds for fall color. Grow alongside mums, ornamental grasses and asters for gorgeous show. These new cultivars, often in fall shades of red, yellow and purple, are hardy until heavy frost is a norm and will often return in spring.
