Opening a JPG Causes BSOD
- One particular JPG file may be causing the error to occur. Try rebooting the computer and then opening the JPG file again. Reboot the computer if the error still appears. Upon reboot, open another JPG file and see if the blue screen appears again. If it does not, then the JPG file you were originally trying to open may be corrupted.
- Viruses multiply themselves a hundred or even a thousand times over affecting files saved in your computer. Reboot the computer and run a reputable anti-virus software to heal, delete or quarantine viruses lurking behind the system. Try opening the JPG file again to see if the BSOD stops appearing.
- Other computer issues related to the software and hardware components of the computer can cause the BSOD to appear. To analyze the BSOD, you need to read the error message. It should include a code with it that determines the cause of the error. You may jot this down and do a little research on the Internet on how to troubleshoot the issue.
