How to Transplant Bromeliad
- 1). Prepare your transplant materials by assembling the plant, new pot and potting soil.
- 2). Fill your new pot with potting soil. Create a shallow hole in the center of the soil using your spade.
- 3). Loosen the soil around your bromeliad's roots using the garden fork. Gently dig into the soil at the base of the plant and, using the fork as a lever, lift the roots up out of the soil.
- 4). Lift the bromeliad from the soil carefully. Gently knock any remaining soil from the roots with your hands.
- 5). Move the plant carefully to its new pot, holding the roots in your hand.
- 6). Place the bromeliad into the hole and fill the area around its roots with soil. Ensure the stem is up above the soil level.
- 7). Press firmly on the soil around the stem to hold the plant in place. Water the center of the plant and surrounding soil.
