How to Remap a Start Up Drive in Windows XP to a New Letter

    • 1). Go to "Start," right-click "My Computer" and select "Manage" from the context menu.

    • 2). Go to "Disk Management" from the left pane options.

    • 3). Right-click the startup drive you wish to modify from the right pane options. Click the "Change Drive Letters and Paths" option to launch the volume's properties.

    • 4). Click "Change," then enable the "Assign the Following Drive Letter" radio button.

    • 5). Select the new drive letter you wish to assign from the drop-down box to the right. Note that not all letters from the alphabet are available, as some may already be in use.

    • 6). Click "OK," followed by "Yes" when asked for confirmation. Click "OK" once again to exit the volume's properties menu.
