How to Remove the Radio From a 2007 Toyota Camry
- 1). Detach the black (negative) cable from the battery using a pair of pliers. This protects you from electric shock when removing the Camry's radio.
- 2). Grasp the automatic-shift knob. Twist it to the left to unscrew it. Continue until it turns freely, and then lift it to remove it.
- 3). Position the trim-panel tool behind the trim piece beneath the center-dash stack. Push the piece toward the backseat area to unhook it. Repeat this for the other side; the two trim pieces are identical.
- 4). Pry upward on the automatic-shift knob trim. With a little effort, the trim unhooks from the center console.
- 5). Grasp the outer rim of the center-console cover. This cover surrounds the automatic-shift knob trim. Lift up firmly to unhook it from the console.
- 6). Remove the two Phillips screws from the radio-storage compartment. These screws become visible with the two trim pieces removed from the center-dash stack.
- 7). Grasp the radio-storage compartment and pull it away from the center-dash stack.
- 8). Insert the trim-panel tool into the corner of the A/C vent panel. Pry outward to release the panel's clips. Pull the panel off. Disconnect the emergency flasher and clock connection from the rear.
- 9). Remove the four 10mm bolts from the Camry's radio. Grasp the radio setup and pull it out of the center-dash stack. The radio is still connected to the climate-control unit. Unplug the wiring harness and antenna cable from the rear.
