How to Put a Password on a Folder in Windows Vista
- 1). Right-click the folder you want to protect and select "Properties."
- 2). Select the "Security" tab of the Properties window.
- 3). Deny access to the folder for each user account on the Vista machine by selecting the user from the "Permissions" box (within the "Security" tab) and clicking "Edit." From the "Edit" menu, select "Deny" to disable access to the folder. Select "OK" to apply. Other users will no longer be able to access this folder without providing your Vista user name and password.
