    • 1). Put on a filter mask to help reduce breathing in harmful fumes.

    • 2). Open all the windows within the room to allow for adequate airflow. Many brands of mineral spirits contain highly flammable and strong fumes. Allowing fresh air into the room while you are using this substance will reduce the chance of headaches caused by the strong fumes.

    • 3). Dampen a soft cloth with the mineral spirits. Wipe away as much of the Liquid Nails as possible. Continue dampening the soft cloth with the mineral spirits until the entire area is clean and free from Liquid Nails.

    • 4). Wipe away all mineral spirit residues with a sponge dampened with clean water.

    • 1). Sand the dried area of Liquid Nails with fine-grit sandpaper. Use small, circular strokes only on the Liquid Nails. Do not allow the sandpaper to touch the wood floor, which will scratch the surface and then you will have floor damage to fix.

    • 2). Continue to sand the Liquid Nails, leaving a thin layer of adhesive on the wood floor. Wipe the sanding dust away from the floor with a damp sponge.

    • 3). Turn a hair dryer on high heat, and allow it to run for one to two minutes so it can get as hot as possible. Move the hair dryer over the spot of Liquid Nails in smooth back and forth motions. Continue to heat the area of Liquid Nails until it is soft and pliable.

    • 4). Dampen a soft cloth with mineral spirits, and rub the remaining Liquid Nails off the wood floor. Continue this process until all the Liquid Nail adhesive is gone from the wood.

    • 5). Moisten a sponge with clean water, and remove any residue left behind by the mineral spirits.
