    • Borage flower leaves have a blander taste than the blooms. In China they're used like grape leaves, stuffed with herbs, rice or meat and rolled. The leaves can also be used for a seasoning in soups, because their taste isn't overwhelming.

    • The oil extracted from the seeds of the borage flower are often what borage supplements are made of. According to WebMD, the oil contains gamma linolenic acid and helps improve swollen joints. The oil has a taste similar to that of fish oil, but the supplement is not recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding women.
