Rose Moss Blooming Period
- Rose moss has many tiny ruffled multicolored blooms. These flowers normally have a yellow center with ruffled petals in various shades of red, pink, yellow, orange or white. It may have single, semi-double or double blooms. The foliage grows low to the ground and has spiky stems. It normally grows to be only 6 to 8 inches tall, and each plant spreads out to about 12 inches.
- The rose moss blooms from summer until the first frost. It is an annual that can be sewn from seed. Seeds should be started indoors from 6 to 8 weeks before planting outside. In an ideal climate, rose moss will continue to bloom for several weeks.
- Rose moss is resistant to disease and most insects. However, it is best to watch for aphids. If the soil is poorly drained, it may also be susceptible to crown rot.
- Rose moss thrives best in dry, sandy soil. It prefers full sunlight, and blooms may not open up in shade or on cloudy days. This flower requires very little water and does well in poor soil conditions where other flowers may not. It is also drought-resistant.
