How to Remove a Cracked Spark Plug

    • 1). Insert screwdriver into the spark plug hole and determine how much distance there is from the top of the piston to the bottom of the spark plug. If piston head is less than 2 inches from spark plug, turn ignition key 1 time very quickly to move piston away from spark plug. Spray a small amount of liquid wrench into the plug hole to loosen up the cracked spark plug. Allow the liquid wrench to soak for about 15 minutes.

    • 2). Insert EZ-Out into the spark plug hole, turning counter-clockwise until the tool gets a firm grip on the remainder of the spark plug. Turn EZ-Out clockwise slowly to remove spark plug.

    • 3). Continue process until spark plug is completely removed from engine block. If EZ-Out comes off of spark plug, turn counter-clockwise to get a better grip on the spark plug and then turn clockwise until it is removed.
