    • 1). Measure the area of the room where the underlayment will be installed. Run a tape measure across the length and width of the room and multiply the two figures to get the total square footage. Divide that number by 32, which is the square footage of the underlayment, to figure out how many sheets you need.

    • 2). Spread out paneling adhesive along the entire back of the first sheet of underlayment with a paint roller. Lay the first full sheet vertically in any corner of the room. Press down firmly to attach it to the OSB. Run your hands over the entire area to secure the adhesive in place. Line up the second piece and install it in the same manner. Continue down the room until you reach the end of the first side.

    • 3). Cut the underlayment to size with a circular saw if necessary so it will fit against the wall. Measure and mark on the board where to cut using a tape measure and pencil. Cut the board on the mark using the circular saw. Line up the first sheet of the second row of underlayment above the first row. Butt the two pieces together so there are no gaps between them.

    • 4). Install the second row and all of the remaining rows the same way until the entire room is covered. Cut the pieces to fit where necessary. Wipe off any excess adhesive with a clean rag.

    • 5). Sand the edges with 220-grit sandpaper to smooth out the rough sides. Verify all of the underlayment is secure to the OSB upon completion.
