How to Bleach Linoleum
- 1). Pour 12 cups of water into a bucket. Pour 4 cups of chlorine bleach into the water. Add four or five drops of a mild dish soap to the solution and then stir everything together with your mop.
- 2). Apply the mop to the surface of the floor without wringing it out first. Wet the surface of the floor. Allow the water to rest on a heavily soiled floor for 45 minutes. If completing a routine cleaning on lightly soiled flooring, wait approximately five minutes.
- 3). Rinse the mop out in the bucket and then wring the mop out.
- 4). Sop up the water from the floor with the mop. Apply pressure with the mop to remove stubborn bleach. Rinse and wring the mop as needed.
- 5). Empty the bucket, clean it and add a half-gallon water and a half-gallon white distilled vinegar into the bucket.
- 6). Mix the solution with the mop and repeat Steps 2 through 4 with the vinegar solution. The vinegar solution neutralizes any bleach left on the floor.
