    • 1). Mark the 2-by-4 lumber every 36 inches with a measuring tape and pencil. Make enough markings to create four individual sections. Cut along these lines with a miter saw.

    • 2). Mark the 2-by-4 lumber at 48 inches with a measuring tape and pencil. Cut along this line with a miter saw.

    • 3). Insert two of the 36-inch sections into the end of the metal sawhorse brackets and secure it with two wood screws through each side of the wood. Repeat this step to build the second set of legs.

    • 4). Push the bottom of the legs together to open the top of the brackets. Insert the 48-inch section of lumber in the top of the bracket and close the legs.
