How to Remodel a Powder Room
- 1). Paint the walls in your powder room. Select a paint color to create an illusion of a larger room. Light paint colors make a room look and feel large, while dark colors make a room look and feel small.
- 2). Lay a decorative rug under the sink in your powder room. You do not have to remove your current flooring and install new flooring in order to create a new look to your floor. Select a decorative rug to complement your wall colors. For example, if your walls have light blue paint on them, lay a dark blue rug on the floor.
- 3). Turn off the power in your powder room at your main circuit box. Remove your current light fixture in the room by removing the screws holding it in place. Untwist the wires and set aside your old light fixture.
- 4). Install a new globe light fixture in your powder room according to the manufacturer's directions. Typically, you twist the color-coded wires together and secure the light fixture with the screws provided and your screwdriver. Test the light fixture by turning on the power in your powder room.
- 5). Hang framed artwork on the walls in your powder room. Line drawings or watercolors might be suitable.
