Spray Foam Insulation Advantages

    Saves on Energy Costs

    • Spray foam seals the entire house or building, keeping air and moisture from coming into or exiting the house. This will keep energy costs down by not cooling or heating the house with air that is escaping. The US Department of Energy states that approximately 40 percent of the energy costs in the home is from air escaping from wall sockets, windows and doorways.

    Reduces Moisture and Mold

    • Spray foam prevents moisture in the home, which prevents mold from growing. There is no way to totally eliminate mold since there are mold spores constantly in the air. When they land on a moist spot, mold can begin to form. Spray foam can help to control the mold by reducing moisture infiltration and not allowing as many mold spores in through the cracks in the home.

    Has a High R-Value

    • Spray foam contains about a 6.0 r-value in every inch. This provides thermal resistance with less material than other insulations. This can save about 30 percent in energy and utility costs, which in turn means the insulation will pay for itself in about 5 five years or less.

    Keeps Dust and Pollen Out

    • Spray foam insulation can help reduce the amount of dust and pollen that enters the home. By insulating even the smallest cracks and corners, dust and pollen will not be able to enter in the areas that are insulated with spray foam. With traditional insulation, there are still cracks and gaps that can be easily missed.
