How to Decorate With Fresh Fruits
- 1). Cut a large cantaloupe in half, remove the seeds and place it on a serving tray, rind side up.
- 2). Cut a seedless watermelon in half. Use a melon baller to scoop watermelon balls. Create cantaloupe balls using the other half of the cut fruit.
- 3). Carve a fresh pineapple into 3/8-inch slices. Press a small flower-shaped cookie cutter into the pineapple slices to create decorative designs.
- 4). Slide the pieces of fresh fruit onto wooden skewers featuring pointed tips. Begin and end each skewer arrangement with a purple or green grape. Vary the order of fruit, such as pineapple flower, watermelon ball and green grape, or by alternating purple and green grapes, from skewer to skewer. Use grape or melon ball halves to create the centers of the pineapple flowers.
- 5). Insert the ends of the fruit-enhanced skewers into the cantaloupe rind, which will serve as a centerpiece base. Display the fresh fruit centerpiece in the center of a party table.
- 6). Experiment with additional fruit bouquet ideas. Fill a shallow, decorative vase, bowl or a woven basket with florists' foam and insert the ends of the skewers into it to resemble a traditional flower bouquet. Dip plump strawberries into melted chocolate and allow them to chill in a freezer for an hour. Slide the chocolate-covered strawberries onto the skewers as an extra sweet touch. Alternate some of the fruit pieces with pastel-hued marshmallows as another option.
