    • 1). Draw a large vertical oval in the center of a piece of paper. This is the basic shape of the squirrel's body. Draw a smaller oval tilted slightly to the right at the upper left side of the first oval. This is the basic shape of the squirrel's head.

    • 2). Draw a short horizontal line from the bottom of the squirrel's body to the left. This is the bottom edge of the squirrel's hind leg. Draw a large "S" shape originating from the bottom right side of the squirrel's body and as high as the top of the squirrel's head. This is the basic shape of the fluffy and flexible tail.

    • 3). Draw two small, upside-down "U"shapes at the top of the squirrel's head to represent the ears. Draw a small, horizontal oval in the center of the squirrel's head to represent the eye. Draw a tiny "u" at the left end of the squirrel's head to represent the nose. Draw a short, curved horizontal line below the nose for the mouth.

    • 4). Draw two parallel, horizontal lines from the side of the squirrel's body to the left underneath the head for the front leg. Draw a circle at the end of the two lines to represent the squirrel's front paw. Draw a convex line from the left end of the bottom of the squirrel foot to the side of the squirrel body for the top of the squirrel's back paw.

    • 5). Draw a convex line from the top of the squirrel's back paw where it meets the body, up into the center of the squirrel's body for the top arc of the squirrel's hind leg. Draw two parallel lines from the ends of the squirrel's upper forearm up into the squirrel's body toward the right to represent the upper front limb. Draw a concave line connecting the back of the squirrel's head to the top of its body for the neck.

    • 6). Draw straight, confident lines coming out to the left from underneath the squirrel's nose for the whiskers. Flesh out the furry tail in short, fluffy lines surrounding the "S" shape. Draw over the outline of the squirrel with small, short lines to represent the squirrel's fur. Erase mistakes and unnecessary lines.
