How to Remove a Heater Hose on a 2000 Chevy Silverado

    • 1). Locate the heater hose that you want to replace on the firewall. Use the pliers to release the clip on the end of the hose by clamping the clip together, then pulling the clip back on the heater hose down the line. If the heater hose has been replaced before, there may be a traditional hose clamp on the line, so loosen it using the flat head screwdriver.

    • 2). Place the drain pan underneath the heater hose. Pull off the line and allow the coolant to drain into the pan.

    • 3). Disconnect the other end of the heater hose line using the pliers or flat head screwdriver, then pull the line away from the vehicle and discard it.

    • 4). Place the replacement heater hose on the original fittings and attach it using the hose clamps and the pliers, or the flat head screwdriver.
