How to Fix the Headlights on a 1995 Toyota Previa
- 1). Open the hood and locate the electrical connector on the rear of the headlight assembly. Lift the locking tab and pull the connector loose, then lay it aside.
- 2). Grasp the retaining ring around the bulb and turn it counterclockwise 1/4 turn to release it from the assembly. Remove the ring from the assembly and pull the bulb out of it. Discard the bulb.
- 3). Put on your latex gloves. This ensures that you don't transfer oil from your hands to a bulb, which will damage the glass and cause it to overheat and fail. Insert a new headlight bulb in the headlight assembly.
- 4). Slide the retaining ring over the headlight bulb and onto the back of the headlight assembly. Turn the retaining ring clockwise, locking the bulb and ring into place.
- 5). Push the electrical connector onto the rear of the headlight bulb, making sure it snaps in place and the locking tab engages. Move to the opposite side of the car and replace the second bulb as well. Turn the headlight switch on and verify that the repair was successful.
