How to Bleed a Clutch on a 1992 Ford Truck
- 1). Raise the front of the truck high enough to slide under the truck. Support it on the jack stands. Check the master cylinder reservoir to make sure it is full.
- 2). Locate the small Allen screw on the top of the slave cylinder and find the appropriate Allen wrench. Open the bleeder screw with the Allen wrench.
- 3). Push down on the clutch pedal until it reaches the floor and hold it there (a helper should do this). Do not let it up, because this will suck air into the slave cylinder. The idea is to get the air out. Close the bleeder screw with the Allen wrench. Tell the helper to allow the pedal to rise.
- 4). Repeat the process until all the air has been removed and fluid is the only thing being ejected from the slave cylinder when the bleeder is open and the helper depresses the clutch pedal. Remember to close the bleeder screw before allowing the clutch pedal to rise each time. Top off the master cylinder reservoir, as needed.
