    • 1). Turn off the vehicle's engine and place the shifter in park or first gear (manual transmission). Engage the emergency brake. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal using the battery terminal wrench.

    • 2). Raise the rear of the vehicle using the jack and support it with jack stands. Chock the front wheels.

    • 3). Crawl underneath the rear of the vehicle and locate the drain plug. It is on the bottom of the differential housing.

    • 4). Place the plastic bucket underneath the housing and loosen the drain plug with the 1/2-inch ratchet. Allow the fluid to drain into the bucket until the dripping stops.
