How to Not Over Water Cucumbers
- 1). Grow cucumbers starting indoors with the seeds in seedling pots. When moving the plants outdoors, each cucumber seedling should be planted about 15 inches apart. Cucumber plants can grow 6 feet tall, so they need plenty of room to grow.
- 2). Water the cucumber plants daily with a garden hose. Cucumbers that are not being watered frequently enough may produce deformed and bitter vegetables.
- 3). Reduce the frequency of watering the cucumber plants if signs of over watering are present. Plant leaves will start to turn yellow if they are being over watered. Use the hose on a mist setting, rather than watering the cucumber plants with full water pressure.
