How to Grown Lemon Trees
- 1). Dig a hole in the soil wide and deep enough to accommodate the roots of your tree. Place the tree into the hole and replace two-thirds of the removed soil. Mix the remaining soil with an all-purpose plant food and fill the rest of the hole, tamping it down to eliminate any some air pockets. A slightly acidic all-purpose mix is best for any type of citrus tree, including lemon trees.
- 2). Water the tree thoroughly, until the soil is moist but not drenched. Keep the soil moist at all times--this may require you to water the tree daily. Wipe the lemon tree leaves down at night with a damp sponge.
- 3). Dab pollen on the branches and leaves of indoor trees with a cotton swab. Trees planted outdoors will be naturally pollinated by bees and other insects.
