How to Install a Network Printer on XP
- 1). Log into Windows XP, click "Start," click on "Control Panel," open the "Printers and Faxes" section and then click on "Add Printer."
- 2). Click on the "Next" button, select "Local printer attached to this computer," deselect the "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer" and then click "Next."
- 3). Click on "Create a new port," select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and then click "Next."
- 4). Click on the "Next" button again and then type the IP address and port number for the network printer you are adding.
- 5). Click on the "Next" button and then click "Finish." Select the printer make and model from the printer driver list, click on "Next" again and then click "Next" two more times to set the printer as the default printer on your computer and to not share the printer.
- 6). Click "Next" and then click "Finish" to add the printer to your computer.
