Instructions for Making Duct Tape Bags
- 1). Cut out five pieces of cardboard as a form for the bag. You need two large pieces of cardboard, 7 by 5 inches for the front and back of the bag and two pieces 6 by 3 inches for its sides. Then cut out a 7- by 3-inch piece of cardboard for the bottom of the bag.
- 2). Cover each piece of cardboard with duct tape. Keep the strips as flat as you can to avoid air bubbles and creases. When you reach the cardboard edge, lay it on the middle of a duct tape strip, then fold the tape over on each side until you reach the corner. Then fold the ends down on itself to make a triangle.
- 3). Tape the sides together. The larger pieces must be taped on the 7-inch side of the bottom piece. Then the smaller pieces must be taped on the 3-inch side of the same bottom piece. When they are all taped together, you should have a box with an opening at the top.
- 4). Cut out two pieces of tape 2 to 3 inches wide and as long as you like for the strap. For length, it's best to start off with a longer piece, that way if you feel it is too long it can be cut to decrease its length. Then stick the two pieces together and leave 1/4 inch of adhesive exposed on both ends. Fold the ends down onto the strip itself.
- 5). Tape the strap onto your bag by attaching a strip of duct tape on one end. Then run that strip along the bottom of the bag until you attach it to the other end of the strap. Tape the strap again on the inside for additional holding strength.
