    Toaster Oven

    • A regular toaster oven generates enough heat to bend the Plexiglas. It's a useful bending tool if you want to bend the Plexiglas in angles other than 90 degrees. Use a pan to place the Plexiglas sheet on and put it on the middle oven rack. After five minutes in the oven, it will be ready for molding, but you have to work fast because once it cools it will be harder to bend. If you leave the sheet in the oven longer than seven or eight minutes, it will melt.

    Heat Gun

    • Heat guns look like blow dryers and work in a similar way. They blow hot air that's hot enough to damage skin or burn things close to them. If you purchase one, you can choose between dual temperature and variable temperature heat guns. There are also guns that have varying air flow speed and fans with two or three settings. They range from 1,000 watts to 2,000 watts.

    Strip Heater

    • One of the many uses a strip heater has is bending plastic into any shape. The temperature it can reach varies between 700 and 1,400 degrees Fahrenheit, although you can find strip heaters that reach only 280 degrees Fahrenheit. These are useful for hobbyists and occasional use. Strip heaters can heat acrylic up to 1/4 inch thick and you have to wait for about half an hour until the device warms up.

    Blow Torch

    • You can use a blow torch to heat the Plexiglas, but be careful while working with it. There are hydrogen and oxygen torches, but these are only for professionals. If you're not a professional, use a plain propane blow torch with a medium flame. Move the flame back and forth across the acrylic without melting it. When it's soft enough, you'll be able to bend it.
