How to Install Knobs on Cabinet Drawers
- 1). Measure the length of the drawer and divide by two to find the exact center. Mark this measurement with a pencil.
- 2). Measure from the top of the drawer down approximately 1.5 inches and make a mark with a pencil. Where this mark and the center mark, from Step 1, meet is where the hole for the knob will be drilled.
- 3). Drill through the drawer, at the knob mark, with a 1/8-inch drill bit. Make sure to drill through the front of the drawer instead of from the back, to prevent the wood on the front from splintering.
- 4). Put the screws for the knob through the back of the drawer. Tighten the knob onto the screw by twisting it in the clockwise direction. You may need to use a wrench to keep the screw from spinning as you tighten the knob.
